Ba-Wü publishes new education plans with the help of pirobase

Das Ministerium für Kultus, Jugend und Sport und das Zentrum für Schulqualität und Lehrerbildung Baden-Württemberg publizieren mithilfe von pirobase unter Einsatz von PrintCSS vollautomatisiert die Bildungspläne der beruflichen Gymnasien auf www.bildungsplaene-bw.de. Die Inhalte der Bildungspläne werden dabei in pirobase erfasst und auf den Websites ausgespielt. Durch die Integration eines PrintCSS-Renderers schafft die pirobase imperia GmbH nun einen zusätzlichen Print-Ausgabekanal, um Content auch in gedruckter Form schnell zur Verfügung zu stellen.
Der strukturierte Aufbau der Bildungspläne in pirobase wird medienneutral – wahlweise per XML oder XHTML – an einen PrintCSS-Renderer übermittelt. In Kombination mit dem zugrunde liegenden Stylesheet liefert dieser in Sekundenschnelle ein hochauflösendes, druckfertiges PDF-Dokument zurück. Dieses Dokument kann dann sofort an eine Druckerei weitergeleitet werden, um den Publishing-Prozess vollständig zu automatisieren.
PrintCSS als Technologie
PrintCSS (eigentlich: CSS3 paged media module) ist ein weltweit offener Standard, der zur automatischen Generierung von PDF-Dateien aus strukturieren Daten verwendet wird. Vor einigen Jahren hat PrintCSS den alten W3C-Standard XSL-FO abgelöst und ist der einzige offene Standard zur PDF-Generierung. Die Formatierungssprache CSS (Cascading Stylesheets) ist neben HTML und JavaScript eine der Kernsprachen für Websites, E-Books und Apps und soll in Zukunft zu einer universellen Formatierungssprache für alle Medienformen, auch gedruckte, ausgebaut werden. Der größte Vorteil der PrintCSS-Technologie ist – neben der Automatisierung – die Erstellung von individualisierten und personalisierten Dokumenten ohne Mehrkosten.
Land Baden-Württemberg digitalisiert Bildungspläne
In einem mehrjährigen Prozess sind sämtliche Bildungspläne der beruflichen Gymnasien grundlegend überarbeitet worden. Insgesamt ging es um 82 neue Bildungspläne mit rund 2.000 Seiten, an denen mehr als 60 Bildungsplankommissionen gearbeitet haben. Dieses wichtige Projekt wurde von der pirobase imperia GmbH digital begleitet: Ein automatisierter Prozess zur Veröffentlichung der Pläne über das CMS im Web ermöglicht, diese auch per Knopfdruck drucken lassen zu können.

Cologne, 26 May 2021- The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and the Centre for School Quality and Teacher Training in Baden-Württemberg are using pirobase and PrintCSS to publish the fully automated educational plans for vocational secondary schools on their website. www.bildungsplaene-bw.de. The contents of the educational plans are recorded in pirobase and displayed on the websites. By integrating a PrintCSS renderer, pirobase imperia GmbH has now created an additional print output channel to make content available quickly in printed form.
The structured layout of the educational plans in pirobase is transmitted in a media-neutral way - either via XML or XHTML - to a PrintCSS renderer. In combination with the underlying stylesheet, this returns a high-resolution, print-ready PDF document in a matter of seconds. This document can then be immediately forwarded to a print shop to fully automate the publishing process.
PrintCSS as technology
PrintCSS (actually: CSS3 paged media module) is a worldwide open standard used to automatically generate PDF files from structured data. A few years ago PrintCSS replaced the old W3C standard XSL-FO and is the only open standard for PDF generation. The CSS (Cascading Stylesheets) formatting language is one of the core languages for websites, e-books, and apps, along with HTML and JavaScript, and is expected to be expanded in the future into a universal formatting language for all forms of media, including print. The biggest advantage of PrintCSS technology - besides automation - is the creation of individualized and personalized documents without additional costs.
State of Baden-Württemberg digitises education plans
In a process lasting several years, all educational plans for vocational grammar schools have been fundamentally revised. In total, 82 new education plans with around 2,000 pages were involved, on which more than 60 education plan commissions worked. This important project was digitally accompanied by pirobase imperia GmbH: An automated process for publishing the plans via the CMS on the web makes it possible to have them printed at the touch of a button.
