Am Anfang war die Idee. Sie entsprang der Zusammenarbeit mit dem Spiegel-Verlag. In den Hamburger Redaktionsstuben weiß man aus täglicher Erfahrung um die Macht visueller Eindrücke. „Bilder sagen mehr als 1000 Worte“ - das ist dort mehr als ein Sprichwort, das ist eine gesicherte Erkenntnis aus vielen Jahrzehnten publizistischer Arbeit.

Eine zentrale, online-gestützte Verwaltungs- und Vertriebsplattform für Bilddaten aller Art also – das wär's. Nie wieder soll auch nur der vermeintlich nebensächlichste Schnappschuss unauffindbar verloren gehen, weil ihn niemand ordentlich einsortiert hat. Eine Handvoll Gleichgesinnter gründet in Dortmund ein neues Unternehmen. Der Name ist so bildhaft wie die Sache selbst: Pixelboxx.

Seitdem ist viel passiert… Foto-Content hat die Welt erobert, siehe Facebook, Instagram, TikTok und viele mehr. Die Welt hat sich rasant verändert, Themen wie Big Data und Fast Data sind seitdem nicht mehr wegzudenken, um am Markt konkurrenzfähig zu bleiben.

In einer multikomplexen Welt haben selbst Unternehmen in der gleichen Branche nunmehr individuelle Komplexitäten… da helfen Lösungen von der Stange nicht mehr oder selten nur bedingt, UND genau darum haben wir von der pixelboxx die databoxx gebaut.

In the beginning was the idea. It came from the cooperation with the Spiegel publishing house. The editorial offices in Hamburg know from daily experience about the power of visual impressions. "Pictures say more than a thousand words" - that's more than just a saying there, it's a proven fact from many decades of journalistic work.

A central, online-supported administration and distribution platform for image data of all kinds - that's it. Never again should even the most seemingly insignificant snapshot be lost and untraceable because no one has sorted it properly. A handful of like-minded people found a new company in Dortmund. The name is as figurative as the thing itself: Pixelboxx.

A lot has happened since then... Photo content has taken over the world, see Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and many more. The world has changed rapidly, topics like Big Data and Fast Data have become indispensable to stay competitive in the market.
